Professor Jin Jialun was born in Shanghai, China in 1935, with ancestral roots in Haining, Zhejiang. He graduated from the Department of Art at Taiwan Normal University.
Professor Jin has conducted in-depth research to inherit the strengths of traditional calligraphy and painting, focusing on Tai Chi aesthetics derived from the I Ching (Book of Changes). He established his own systematic theories, including:
“Two Goals and Three Theories of Calligraphy and Painting,”
“Calligraphy and Painting as One, Inheriting the Past and Ushering in the Future,”
“Tai Chi Aesthetics, Six Principles of Chinese Painting, and Nine Laws of Visual Beauty,”
These serve as guiding principles for the modernization of Chinese calligraphy and painting. Tai Chi calligraphy and painting enable traditional art forms with unique Chinese cultural characteristics to truly achieve the goal of “Calligraphy and Painting as One, Inheriting the Past and Ushering in the Future.”
